Virtual Racing Platform ("VRP", "we", "our", or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy details the types of information we collect when you visit our website, connect your Discord account, participate in sim racing leagues, or upload telemetry data, and explains how we process, store, and protect that information.

2. Information We Collect

A. Discord Authentication Data

When you sign in using Discord OAuth, we receive authorized profile information including your Discord User ID, username, avatar image URL, and email address. We do not receive, store, or have access to your Discord account password.

B. Driver Profile & Racing Data

We store driver data that you provide or that is generated through league competition, including your driver tag, assigned race number, league memberships, tier assignments, race results, lap times, ELO progression scores, and penalty history.

C. Telemetry & FIA Incident Evidence

If you upload session telemetry or submit FIA steward tickets, we collect telemetry metric packets (e.g. throttle, brake, delta, gear, speed), session timestamps, incident descriptions, and links to relevant race incident videos (such as YouTube, Twitch, or Streamable clips).

D. Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not process, collect, or store your credit or debit card numbers on our servers. Stripe handles all billing data according to its own Privacy Policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate your identity and maintain your active driver session.
  • To calculate and display driver standings, championship points, race recaps, and ELO ratings.
  • To enable league administrators and stewards to manage race rosters and process FIA incident tickets.
  • To deliver automated race day reminders and incident notifications to designated Discord channels via webhooks.
  • To diagnose technical errors, improve platform performance, and prevent cheating or abuse.

4. Third-Party Services

We partner with trusted service providers to run our platform infrastructure:

  • Discord: Used for account sign-in, user verification, and webhook notifications.
  • Supabase / PostgreSQL: Used for secure cloud database storage and asset hosting.
  • Stripe: Used for payment processing and subscription lifecycle management.
  • Vercel: Used for secure web hosting and edge content delivery.

5. Cookies & Session Storage

We use strictly necessary HTTP cookies to manage authentication sessions and remember your login state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking beacons.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your driver and league data for as long as your account remains active. If you wish to delete your account or request the removal of your personal data, you may submit a deletion request through our Discord server or by contacting our administration team. Upon confirmation, your personal profile data will be permanently purged or anonymized.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have rights under privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access the data we hold about you, request corrections, or object to certain processing.
